Realistic Portrait Sculpture: Classic style with Penko Platikanov

Working directly from live model and using a step by step approach students will learn how to sculpt a realistic portrait in plastilene clay.

Beginning with an armature, then blocking in the basic form, to finally modeling more detailed features. This course is suitable for all levels and will accommodate beginners as well as experienced sculptors. Emphasis will be put on proportions, building the form, developing anatomical awareness, mood and sculptural aesthetic. All the basic tools and techniques of sculpting in clay will be covered.

Each step will be demonstrated and guided throughout the class. The small class structure will enable more one on one attention to students
